This is unbelievable, A commander in chief should know better about what he is saying.

This is from Flopping Aces. I am posting it all.  It is that appalling, what have we done.  Why have we allowed our nation to have a president who would be so crass as to make this mistake.  He should know better. His handlers should know better. He SHOULD apologize.

I have not seen or heard of this in any mainstream media.

“See, what you all need to know about the President you helped to elect is that when it comes to the people he meets, Barack has a memory like a steel trap. He has a gift in that way, able to retain information, know more than those who are briefing him, asking critical questions, because all of those wins and losses are not wins and losses for him [but] they are wins and losses for the folks whose stories he carries with him, the folks that he worries about and prays about before he goes to bed at night”
-First Lady, Michelle Obama at a sold-out breakfast fund-raiser at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley, Calif., on June 14

But that’s not the sad quote of the day (Well….at least up until today, it wasn’t).
This is:

“First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”

BlackFive points out that there is just one terrible problem with this: Staff Sgt. Sal Giunta is in fact the first living recipient of the Medal of Honor since Vietnam.

And Sgt. First Class Jared Monti? He received his…..posthumously.

AP:

Following his brief remarks, Obama stopped to talk one-on-one with the soldiers. He told them to be “at ease” while he took his time working the room, but those orders from the commander in chief did little to spark any chatter among the troops.

As BlackFive comments:

The ironic part of the speech, and this comes after the announcement of the politically pressured drawdown of troops in Afghanistan, was Obama’s closing remark, “Know that your Commander-in-Chief has your back.”

It shouldn’t take a teleprompter for the C-in-C to get it right.
