Gunwalker, Fast and Furious Updates

Before I cast aspersions on the Washington Post I did a search at their site for article on this scandal.  There are some, including a defensive one written by the ombudsman, Patrick Pexton.  Very defensive,  and if you read the 16 stories he links you see they have been playing defense for the administration.  This was written August 14th so it was before all the really dirty angles came out. Other stories are on August 31st; September 1st, on the new head of  ATF; September 2 on White House emails; and a long drought of stories until they think they can damage Issa on September 22;  (a quote from that one:

In May, the White House hired Eric Schultz, a former spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, as a spokesman whose portfolio includes keeping tabs on Issa’s investigations.

Last week, the liberal American Family Voices filed a complaint with the House Office of Congressional Ethics seeking an investigation to determine if Issa’s business interests conflict with his work as a government official.) Nice try WAPO, it let’s us know for sure who you are working for and it is NOT Darrell Issa.

If there has been any other story in the WaPo since the 22nd it hasn’t shown up on their own search engine.

So for the story we must go to the blogs,  Townhall, Heritage.org, PJmedia and other so called right wing news sites. There is plenty there to read.

We will start here at Pajamas Media:

Gunwalker: ATF Walked Guns Directly to Cartel Using Taxpayer Dollars

Think about that, they used the taxpayers dollars (charged of course to our national debt) to buy these guns to send to Mexico’s cartels to turn around and kill Mexican citizens, American citizens and anyone they wanted to.

Gunwalker: Agent Admits His Testimony ‘Lacked … Completeness’

In other words, ATF Agent William Newell wasn’t telling the truth.

We have to give credit where credit is due so here is a contribution from CBS news:

ATF ‘Fast and Furious’ secret audio recordings reveal concerns about whistleblower

By Sharyl Attkisson, Chris Scholl
So if the Washington Post wasn’t giving print coverage CBS was.
Even Wikipedia is covering the story, but it is not up to date in telling that it was the ATF using taxpayer money who actually bought the guns to run to Mexico.

Wizbang blog has a good roundup of the scandal.
Fox News has this for some of  the latest: The inspector general of the Department of Justice undermined and obstructed a congressional investigation by releasing secret tape recordings that corroborate allegations of misconduct in “Operation Fast and Furious,” according to a letter written by Rep. Darrell Issa and Sen. Charles Grassley.

The New York Post has this in a September 22nd article: The stench from Washington is getting stronger. Rep. Darrell Issa has called for a special prosecutor to get to the bottom of the festering mess known as Operation Fast and Furious.
CNS News has a timeline for you, a complete history of the scandal.

I know this is a lot of links to search and read but unfortunately there is a lot more “there.”  If this doesn’t do the administration in completely then nothing will and the republic is lost.
