Links and Comments June 11, 2014 (including my thoughts on Eric Cantor’s loss to Brat)

The whole CSCOPE fiasco has benefited some with millions. http://www.sao.state.tx.us/reports/main/14-034.pdf  And along with that we find that the Gates foundation, which spent millions politically to get Common Core into the class rooms,  is doing a little bit of back tracking.

Iraq is in complete turmoil with Al Qaeda taking over a lot of territory and heading for the oil fields.  Some much of our time, money, and men and women given in vain, because we have an administration intent on losing all we had gained. Here is a list of articles on this:

Border Sheriff Likens Influx Of Illegal Immigrants To Hurricane Katrina

I think the influx of so many teenagers and children are a large component of the collapse of the Eric Cantor vote.  I could link a huge number of links on the Brat win but most of you are probably tired of all the hoorah about it already.

I am glad he won, I think it sends a big message. I listened to C-span this morning and so many voters called in from his area about how tired they were of Cantor and his amnesty push, of course, many also referred to his lack of contact with his voters. Many have said the tea party won.  There is no actual Tea Party, there are groups who call themselves Tea Party and that indicates their conservative inclinations. There is a huge groundswell of people who are tired of the status quo, Republicans who seek power, and of course the current president and administration.  If where the “Tea Party” lost there had not many 4 or 5 running against an incumbent, said incumbent would have lost, the “Tea Party” vote was split in many ways.  That is what kept McConnell in and made for a run off in Mississippi.

It is notable that only $76,000 was spent on that Brat campaign.  Money sometimes doesn’t talk.
