NEW ORLEANS — Mitt Romney won the Southern Republican Leadership Conference straw poll today with 24% of the vote — garnering 1 more vote than Texas Rep. Ron Paul. Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich tied for third with 18%.
There were a total of 1,806 votes cast. Romney received 439 votes, Paul 438.

Who are these Ron Paul voters?  Are they really Republican leaders?  He is not the one we want for our leader.
Update
I feel better after reading this from Ed Morrissey:
Everyone in the Media Filing Center expected Ron Paul to win the straw poll — and he almost did. Despite bringing a reported 900 delegates to the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, Paul got 438 votes, while Mitt Romney edged him by a single vote, with 439.
Well, that explains it.  Now, don’t you feel better, too. It reminds me of Obama with the Iowa caucus.
