The more videos I see of this march the more it saddens me. I see the healthy young men hop onto large transport trucks and ride away. I see the people with families; the children and old people, hobbling along; I can see people limping. There is no way this is going to be anything but disaster for these people. So many who started this journey have been fed a fairy tale of life in the United States. They have no idea how far, how long, how hard, how much of a struggle it will be to actually walk 2000 miles. There will be disaster for many of them. Children lost to disease, accident, purposeful injury, rape, even kidnap and murder. The same for the adults, things will happen and even with all that, nirvana will never be attained.
There have been violent hate crimes aimed at Republicans, but I wonder if these young vandals weren’t just greedy.
As for the “epidemic” of knife assaults, injury and death, I think many of us could tell the UK how to stop it.
